- Dr. Andrew

Dr Andrew Sax is an Australian-trained General Practitioner who uniquely combines primary care with elite performance science and forward-thinking preventative health. His professional mission and approach to medicine are profoundly shaped by his personal health journey.

Dr Andrew's passion for health optimisation is deeply personal. He was born with transposition of the great arteries, a congenital heart defect whose repair was considered complex at the time. The uncertainty surrounding the long-term outcomes of his procedure meant he was later declined for life insurance. This experience drove him to create his own form of "life insurance": a lifelong commitment to and deep interest in proactive screening, prevention, and health optimisation. This personal conviction is now the cornerstone of his medical practice, where he empowers patients to take control of their long-term health.
Dr Andrew's academic foundation is in human performance. He graduated as Valedictorian of his Exercise and Nutrition Science program and completed postgraduate training in sports and exercise physiology before earning his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Queensland. His early career as an Exercise Physiologist saw him designing conditioning and rehabilitation programs for elite and Olympic-level athletes.

Before specialising in General Practice, Dr Andrew gained extensive frontline experience as a rural Medical Officer in emergency medicine and on general medical wards. Currently based on the Gold Coast, he applies his integrated expertise to care for a range of patients, including former professional surfers, focusing on musculoskeletal injury management and rehabilitation. Beginning in December, he will bring his unique blend of elite sports science and preventative medicine to the UK.

Dr Andrew's clinical interests are focused on longevity medicine, preventative health, and performance optimisation. He guides patients in areas such as weight management, men’s health, anti-aging strategies, and integrative care that looks beyond mere symptom management. He has also held teaching roles in exercise physiology and clinical medicine, mentoring future health professionals.
Outside of the clinic, Dr Andrew is an avid snowboarder, surfer, and hiker who embodies the principles he teaches. He holds a core belief in optimising physiological function and performance at any age, helping individuals live longer, healthier, and more fulfilling lives.
